This painting was inspired by an autumn afternoon in the Flint Hills of Kansas. A storm moved across the prairie, and light began to break through the thinning clouds. A quiet, luminous rainbow briefly appeared against the wide blue.

In that moment, the scene carried a promise of mercy and renewal. Standing beneath the shifting sky, the land seemed held rather than threatened—marked by care rather than destruction. The curving path and open horizon echo a sense of forward movement, guided by trust rather than certainty.
